PRS correspondance May - June 2002

This item was viewable for a limited time only and has now been removed.

It consists of a sequence of six letters written between 14th May 2002 and 24th June 2002 between me and Mr Brian Inglis of the Performing Rights Society, UK, in which I was seeking more information regarding the PRS' current live music policy and distribution of royalties to composers of classical music. I found this correspondance very helpful in my understanding, and my enquiries were met with a sympathetic and understanding response. In my final letter I requested if I might make this correspondance known to fellow composers who were friends, and Mr Inglis said I could share the information, but that it was important not to take any of his comments out of context, and finally to "not introduce my letter or my comments into any arena other than your immediate circle of friends."

It is for this final reason that I posted the entire correspondance on my website for only a limited period of time and notified composer friends to see it there. Nothing was taken out of context, all letters were copied and posted in total. Should anyone else wish to read this, please contact me.
